Co się stało z Elky'm?
Michał "Carmac" Blicharz, redaktor serwisu Global Gaming League przeprowadził wywiad - w pełnym tego słowa znaczeniu - ze zdobywcą srebrnego medalu podczas pierwszych cyberigrzysk World Cyber Games w roku 2001 w StarCrafta. Aktualnie ten jeden z pierwszych profesjonalnych graczy z Zachodu, zarabia na własne życie dobierając karty w pokera. 
Bertrand "Elky" Grosspellier dość wyczerpująco odpowiada na wszystkie pytania zadawane przez naszego rodaka (charakterystyczne dla jego stylu, w rodzaju "ile trzeba mieć jaj (...)?"). W treści jego odpowiedzi zawarte są informacje na temat profesjonalnej kariery i przygody Francuza w Korei, od czasu to kiedy wyjechał do tego kraju, aby mierzyć swoje siły z innymi zawodowymi graczami. Większa część wywiadu traktuje jednak o grze karcianej czyli pokerze. To właśnie na niej Elky postanowił skupić swoją uwagę. GGL: How much truth is there in reports that BroodWar is a national sport in Korea?
Elky: In some ways it is, Korean really are fanatical about BroodWar, they love to play it, and they love to watch it on TV and there are three TV channels that almost exclusively show just BroodWar matches and leagues. Every player has their own fan club (I still do too), and star players are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year now and are considered minor celebrities in some ways. I mean [Lim] "Slayers_Boxer" [Yo Hwan] gets way over 100k a year and almost everyone in Korea can recognize him.
Also there is a professional players association that regulates pro-gamer status in Korea as well as many major, minor and amateur leagues going on all the time. The current trend in Korea is that the pro gaming teams get a corporate sponsor so in some ways, they are exactly like sports teams that are fully funded with a practice studio, food, rent, and salary.
